Much of his training is focused on managing complications related to previous surgeries, first time hip and knee replacements and computer navigation and robotic assisted surgery.
He is a reviewer for the Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma and is a member of several organizations including the Foundation for Orthopaedic Trauma, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Florida Orthopaedic Society. Each of these organizations provide education, research and mentorship to surgeons and allied providers specializing in orthopedics across the country.
Dr. Donohue has given lectures both nationally and internationally regarding orthopedic trauma, including an academic presentation about computer assisted radiology and surgery. He is a continuing speaker and instructor at Orthopaedic Trauma Association annual meetings.
Outside of Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Donohue enjoys spending family time with his wife and daughters.

Dr. David Donahue was exceptional and his approach to the anterior total right hip replacement. I would have problem continue to involve him and the continuing of my care. If there was one thing I would have a grievance against it would be anesthesia specifically the younger guy under the care of Or supervision of Dr Patel. and specifically the moment waking up or being woken up Just from the operating room to the recovery room, which is all of about maybe 45 seconds to maybe one and a half minutes. It was the worst excruciating pain I’ve ever experienced in my entire life, and I feel deeply confident that it could’ve been avoided. It was very traumatic going through that experience and a good 10 minutes thereafter until they got in control, but by all means this is not fall on the shoulders with Dr. David Donahue thanks Scott
