Dr. David Jupina joined the Tri-Valley Orthopedic group in 1998. In addition to his busy orthopedic and sports medicine practice, he is currently team physician for our local Foothill High School athletes, and Orthopedic Surgery Consultant to the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, CA. He performs surgery at ValleyCare Hospital, San Ramon Regional Medical Center, Hacienda Surgery Center and Pleasanton Surgery Center.

Additional Background
Dr. Jupina is a Bay Area native, born and raised in the Hayward area and a graduate of Moreau High School. After completing his undergraduate studies and medical school training in Southern California, he returned to the Bay Area and completed his orthopedic training at the San Francisco Orthopedic Residency Program based at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
As both a Board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Jupina has a special interest in Sports Medicine. He has developed special expertise in ACL injuries in athletes, always with emphasis on the most current treatment options available. Most recently he has specialized in the anterior approach for hip replacement surgery.
Dr. Jupina enjoys being the team physician for Foothill High School’s football team in Pleasanton. He and his wife are the busy parents of seven children, residing in the Pleasanton Community. He is an active physician and father, and when time permits, he enjoys playing golf.

Great doctor/ surgeon.
Everything has went very well for me since I first walked into the Tri-Vally orthopedic specialists facility. The check-in was great and his staff is excellent. Dr. Jupina has a great personality and made me feel comfortable while explaining to me my surgical options and what to expect after the procedures. I had a blood draw and an injection today and both were absolutely painless. I feel lucky to have been referred to him and hope that he will continue to be my doctor.
