Dr. David Ingvoldstad, MD, MBA is a specialist in the medical and surgical treatment of the vitreous and retina, diabetic eye disease, and cataracts. A native of South Dakota, Dr. Ingvoldstad received a bachelor of science degree from the University of New Hampshire. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. After completing a one-year internship in internal medicine and a three-year residency program in ophthalmology at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, Dr. Ingvoldstad completed a vitreoretinal disease and surgery fellowship in June 2006. He earned an MBA in Healthcare Management from the University of Colorado at Denver in July 2018.
Since joining Midwest Eye Care in 2006, Dr. Ingvoldstad has volunteered as a surgeon for the Mission Cataract program. He also is a volunteer clinical instructor for the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine.
Dr. Ingvoldstad currently serves as President of the Nebraska Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons and in 2010 he completed the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s Leadership Development program. Beginning in 2012 he will be representing Nebraska Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons as the Councilor to the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Ingvoldstad also serves on the Board of Directors for the Metro Omaha Medical Society. He maintains memberships in the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Nebraska Academy of Eye physicians and Surgeons, Metro Omaha Medical Society, American Medical Association and American Society of Retina Specialists.

Dr. Ingvolstad is an excellent doctor. My mother has dementia & Dr plus his nurse is always very friendly & courteous. Dr. Always explains to my mother & myself what he is doing & what he recommends for her. She has been Dr. Ingvolstad for years & he is the only eye doctor she likes.
He seemed in a hurry looked in my eyes and said to continue eye drops as prescribed. Did he see the scans that were done that day, are they different or the same as last appointment with scans? He is very polite. I prefer to be informed if scans show the same or if different, if they are different I would like to know and informed.
I am trusting David with my sight!
