Dr. David Homan joined CIS in 2017 as an interventional cardiologist in Opelousas.
He attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota where he majored in chemistry. He earned his medical doctorate from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois, where he graduated with honors in bioethics and professionalism. At the same university, he completed an internship and residency in internal medicine.
Dr. Homan continued his training at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, where he served as chief cardiology fellow and was named cardiology fellow of the year. He attended Scripps Green in La Jolla, California to train in interventional cardiology.
Before joining CIS, Dr. Homan worked at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana as an interventional cardiologist. He is a member of many professional organizations including the American College of Cardiology, the American Medical Association, the Louisiana State Medical Society, and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He has written and published multiple presentations and medical book reviews.

Good listener. Took his time to evaluate.
Dr. Homan was informative, help me to understand the way my meds work and he listened, considered and acted on my concerns about the amount medicines I am on. I had not seen him in a few years but I am please to have him back on my care team for this chapter of my life.
Dr is easy to talk to. He’s respectful and approachable and I trust him.
