Dr. David Franz is a lifelong Virginian who did his undergraduate, medical, and residency training at the University of Virginia. He finished undergraduate work in 1988 as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. Upon completing medical school in 1992, he chose to perform the 5-year Otolaryngology residency training program in Charlottesville. He then moved into practice in Fredericksburg in 1997.
Dr. Franz is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is a former Chairman of Otolaryngology at Mary Washington Hospital and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fredericksburg Ambulatory Surgery Center.

So down to earth & explained everything very well.
He acted like my issue was small and that I would get used to it and my hearing loss was in my head.
Very friendly and professional
Not to be cliché, but we come for Franz, Dr. Franz! I have three littles and he has done probably ten surgeries between the three of them. I have not had a single complication either! He is personable and really listens to what I have to say. He also keeps my children calm even when pulling a tube out of their ear! Go see him and thank me later!

I have seen Dr Franz on the 15 of January 2026 I have to talk with him about my sleep management issues and he is very helpful and answering my questions and he takes time to talk with me thank you so much Dr Franz for your patience and understanding
