Dr. David Franz is a lifelong Virginian who did his undergraduate, medical, and residency training at the University of Virginia. He finished undergraduate work in 1988 as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society. Upon completing medical school in 1992, he chose to perform the 5-year Otolaryngology residency training program in Charlottesville. He then moved into practice in Fredericksburg in 1997.
Dr. Franz is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is a former Chairman of Otolaryngology at Mary Washington Hospital and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fredericksburg Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Dr. Franz is engaging and listens to his parents. He explains procedures and evaluates how often the patient needs to rotate appointments.
Seemed knowledgeable. Not the best bedside manner.
Dr. Franz is experienced. extremely patient and good at what he does.

Not to be cliché, but we come for Franz, Dr. Franz! I have three littles and he has done probably ten surgeries between the three of them. I have not had a single complication either! He is personable and really listens to what I have to say. He also keeps my children calm even when pulling a tube out of their ear! Go see him and thank me later!
