DR. CHAN’S APPROACH TO TREATING PATIENTS
Get to know the person
“Being a physical therapist has impacted my approach as a surgeon to every person I meet in the office or the hospital. Therapists are blessed to be able to spend time getting to know their patients over days and weeks. This creates a special personal bond between the patient and the healthcare provider that makes accomplishing a goal so satisfying. It is this joy in being a teammate of the patient, to achieve that common goal together, that motivates me to do what I do.”
Do No Harm
“My rehabilitation background guides my philosophy of trying all conservative nonsurgical treatments first, whenever possible. It’s the safest course, allows both of us to get to know one another, and just plain good medicine. Sometimes, conservative treatments fail and surgery is the best available option. I always operate with the postoperative recovery in mind, and I use minimally invasive techniques to facilitate the rehabilitation afterwards.”

Smart, caring and enjoyable to talk to,…
Very courteous, professional and explains diagnoses and treatments clearly.
Great guy and great doctor. I highly recommend Doctor Chan.
Doc was 1/2 hour late getting to me and spoke so fast I hardly had time to think.
Personable, smart and willing to listen.
I really like the Doctor, he seemed down to earth. He seemed like he is knowledgeable about the hand.
Excellent,! Busy Dr. But takes time to discuss my questions. Gets the unpleasant thumb injections done quickly with fine gauge needle with minimum pain.
Within 5 minutes of Dr Chan seeing my mom, she had a surgery appointment the next day to take care of her trigger finger. She has been waiting for this a long time. Thank you Dr Chan.
Dr Chan is obviously a great hand doctor and is in great demand. My critique is that so many patients are scheduled and juggled that appointments last a lot longer than needed due to mostly waiting. Knowing that ahead of time would help patients know that it will include waiting time of 30-45 minutes.
Very knowledgeable and provided information to help me understand my issues.
