Dr. Daniel Maxwell is a Carrollton native and a summa cum laude graduate of the University of West Georgia. Dr. Maxwell earned his medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia. After residency, Dr. Maxwell completed a fellowship in Foot & Ankle Surgery at the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in Gulfbreeze, Florida. The Andrews Institute, under the leadership and reputation of internationally renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews, provides a spectrum of services in order for patients to quickly and accurately address their orthopaedic needs.
Dr. Maxwell’s expertise in orthopaedics is not limited to foot & ankle. He also has extensive training and experience with all types of orthopedic related injuries, from knee pain to joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Maxwell is a graduate of Central High School (Lion Pride!) and the Maxwell family has extensive roots in the west Georgia region. Daniel and his wife, Kristen, have two boys and reside in Carrollton.

Very personable and knowledgeable. Just the right combination. He is straight forward and answers questions with confidence, putting you at ease, even if discussing joint replacement. I laughed at his comment about my concern that recent joint issues had already brought me to him for care. He said "Well you are 60!" All the while I was shocked because I was thinking, " But I'm ONLY 60!". We definitely had different perspectives on age and expected conditions at certain ages. LOL These often age-related issues always sneak up on us, but he sees it a lot I'm sure. I was just pleased he had solutions and was able to lay out a plan of attack that worked for me.
Great bedside manner!
I met with Dr Maxwell today and he made me feel very comfortable. He discussed my options thoroughly and we both came up with treatment. He’s very down to earth and I enjoyed talking with him.
