I want to offer constructive feedback about my recent experience. I have no concerns about Dr. Linn’s technical skill or the cystoscopy itself. My concern is with communication and follow-up. I don’t believe I was adequately prepared for what to expect after the procedure, including worsening urinary symptoms, retention, or signs of infection that should prompt immediate evaluation. While on vacation, my symptoms worsened, I developed a 101° fever from a UTI, and ultimately required an ER visit and catheterization, disrupting my vacation. I was also disappointed that I received no follow-up call after the procedure. A simple check-in may have identified my worsening symptoms sooner and led to earlier evaluation. While the outcome can’t be known, earlier intervention may have prevented the infection from progressing. I offer this feedback respectfully in hopes of improving communication and follow-up for future patients.
