With a patient-care philosophy built on clinical knowledge, personalized care and collaborative style, Dr. Lorenzana welcomes new patients with both acute and chronic issues.
Dr. Lorenzana spent his childhood in Northern California before undergraduate education at Harvard University and medical school at the University of Southern California. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Duke University and fellowship at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center. Following his Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship, Dr Lorenzana additionally completed a travelling fellowship in Europe, studying under internationally recognized experts in sports injuries of the upper extremity, microvascular surgery, arthroscopy, and shoulder surgery.
He holds diverse interests outside of medicine that inform his holistic approach to patient care. He prioritizes empathy and patient education, drawing on years of teaching and leadership experience as a course instructor, tutor, student body president and team captain of track and field and boxing clubs. He is also a masters level biomedical engineer, avid woodworker and occasional musician.
His clinical and research interests include upper extremity trauma, microvascular surgery, arthroscopic treatment of wrist and shoulder conditions, and shoulder arthroplasty.
My first time here. The dr was warm and friendly; made me feel very comfortable and welcome. He reassured me that he would get to the root cause of the discomfort I was experiencing.

My 1st visit with Dr. Lorenzana. Everything went as expected. He took his time and was very thorough and explained what he recommended were the next steps. Assistant Lindsey took me right in and took X-rays very quickly. Couldn't be happier so far. Hopefully I won't need surgery.
