Dr. Maurer earned his Bachelor of Arts from Miami University in 1998. Upon completion of his B.A., he earned his Doctorate of Osteopathy from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002 and performed his internship and residency at Affinity Medical Center in Massillon, Ohio. Dr. Maurer then pursued and completed his fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, California.
Dr. Maurer is currently the team physician for McKinney North High School in McKinney, TX and Wakeland High School in Frisco, TX.
Dr. Maurer’s hobbies include traveling, weight-lifting, and spending quality time with his family.

He did my left knee replacement. It was amazing. The nerve block was done correctly. Everything went smoothly. He is a great doctor to have in your corner. I’m so happy that I have him as my orthopedic surgeon. I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere else no matter how far I live.
I have seen a few Orthopedic doctors throughout my life, and I can honestly say that Dr Dan Maurer is THE best ortho I’ve ever met. He listened to every complaint I had, we talked and laughed as if we had been friends forever. He is a wonderful person, and his expertise surpasses all other orthos I’ve seen. 10/10 recommended!!!
My first and only visit with Dr Maurer was great and I would schedule with him again in the future if need be.
Thoughtful, does not do unnecessary testing, thinks outside the box!! I trust this doctor.
Great bedside Great Everything
Incredible person. Explains in detail, answers questions without hesitation, and unconsciously makes you feel better about a bad situation.
Dr. Maurer and his staff are great. He provides excellent care, listens closely to your individual concerns and explains all options clearly. Dr. Maurer has treated several problems for me including a total knee replacement. I have received to notch care through it all. The only down side is that sometimes there is a long wait at your appointment. But, this is common at a good doctor's office. I recommend Dr. Maurer to my family and friends for any orthopedic problem.

He’s the best. I’ve used him several times and wouldn’t go to anyone else with my bone issue's.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Maurer since I was 15, so almost 10 years. He has always had the best bedside manner. Starts conservative and bumps up if needed which I am a huge fan of. Spends time with his patients and isn’t just rushing in and out.
