As an OR nurse, I have worked with Dr Rader in the OR for more than a decade in all sorts of surgeries, joint replacements being the most. When I needed my kmee replaced in 2021.. he was the surgeon I chose. I have been his patient for many years now, and needing rotator cuff repair in the future, he's my go to. As a surgeon..one of the best.. as in total care.. kind, considerate, a great listener taking all the time when needed ( Professionally, he's listened to me for far too long!!), and most compassionate.
In his care and his staff, you will have all of your concerns met!!

Dr. Rader pursued his undergraduate degree at Wabash College, where he also played basketball. Dr. Rader graduated with honors from the Howard University College of Medicine. Dr. Rader’s love of sports led him to further specialize his training by doing a sports medicine fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, where he worked with the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFL.
Originally from Chicago, Dr. Rader realized he wanted to work in a warmer climate after living in Miami for his orthopedic residency, and North Carolina definitely fit the bill. Dr. Rader is married to his lovely wife, Dr. Rachel Rader. They have three children, Carrie, Dane, and Rhea. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, traveling, and listening to music. Dr. Rader is an active member of his church where he serves as an usher. He delights in seeing his patients become pain-free and improving their quality of life. He has thoroughly enjoyed serving the Statesville and Foothills community.
