Dr. Sauer, a New York native, received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Binghamton University. After that he attended the American University of the Caribbean where he earned his medical degree. Finally, in 2014 he moved to Connecticut and completed his residency at Bridgeport Hospital – Yale New Haven Health.
Currently, Dr. Sauer is an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital. He has an interest in minimally invasive gynecology including robotics, contraception, and high risk obstetrics. He is eager to work with medical students and residents as he enjoys teaching. He looks forward to becoming involved in the OB/GYN department at Yale Medical School along with the other members of County OB/GYN.
Outside of medicine Dr. Sauer enjoys traveling, music, exercising, and listening to podcasts. He has visited 19 countries, and completed six half marathons and one marathon. His favorite foods are peanut butter and pizza, and his happy place is the island of St. Maarten. He enjoys spending time with his partner, family, and friends.

Dr. Sauer is not only an amazing m.d., but also an amazing person. I have been feeling pretty disheartened by what is going on in the world around me. Listening to Dr. Sauer talk about his philosophy of making the world a more positive place, by improving the lives of his patients, and people around him, made me feel more hopeful. He is truly a force for good and an inspiration.
Dr. Sauer is the most professional, caring and compassionate physician. He knows his patients and is thorough with the care for each as he listens, explains and ensures you understand and answers all questions. Whenever someone ask, who is my doctor and I let them know it’s Dr. Sauer, everyone has nothing but high regards and kind words for Dr. Sauer.

Dr. Sauer was very knowledgeable and empathetic. He explained everything in detail as we were going through and made sure I was comfortable with the process and understood all my options. It was my first time meeting him but based on the interaction I would recommend him to others and would be very happy to see him again.

Dr. Sauer is THE BEST! So professional, knowledgeable and amazing at his job, while also having an incredible bedside manner. He makes you feel so comfortable, safe and supported. Everyone at County is honestly so wonderful, but he’s my favorite!
