Dr. Sauer, a New York native, received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at Binghamton University. After that he attended the American University of the Caribbean where he earned his medical degree. Finally, in 2014 he moved to Connecticut and completed his residency at Bridgeport Hospital – Yale New Haven Health.
Currently, Dr. Sauer is an attending physician at Yale New Haven Hospital. He has an interest in minimally invasive gynecology including robotics, contraception, and high risk obstetrics. He is eager to work with medical students and residents as he enjoys teaching. He looks forward to becoming involved in the OB/GYN department at Yale Medical School along with the other members of County OB/GYN.
Outside of medicine Dr. Sauer enjoys traveling, music, exercising, and listening to podcasts. He has visited 19 countries, and completed six half marathons and one marathon. His favorite foods are peanut butter and pizza, and his happy place is the island of St. Maarten. He enjoys spending time with his partner, family, and friends.

Dr. Sauer was absolutely amazing. He truly takes the time to listen and be receptive especially during a delicate time for a first time pregnant mom. His bedside manner is absolutely amazing and I feel like he truly makes it a point to make a personal connection with his patients. I had some questions and concerns regarding my pregnancy and birth, and he took the time to go over each one in depth with me and my husband. 12/10 recommend him and pray I’ll be lucky enough that he’s there when I deliver my baby!
Doctor Sauer is by far one of the best doctors I’ve had the chance to meet. I had a couple surgeries performed by him and there are not enough words to express the excellency he strives for. My twins and I were in great hands. We’re so grateful for dr. Sauer.
Dr. Sauer has exceptional bedside manner and truly takes the time to listen to and understand my concerns. He is thoughtful, compassionate, and never makes me feel rushed or dismissed. He carefully formulated a plan that addresses my individual needs and always provides reassurance when I have concerns or questions. His knowledge and expertise are evident in every interaction. I feel very fortunate to have such a caring, thoughtful, and extremely knowledgeable physician.

Dr. Sauer is the absolute best. He is down to earth, knowledgeable, and has the patients best interest at hand. He was there for me through my pregnancy last year after having a loss before and I will always be thankful for the care that he gave me and going above and beyond to make sure I was ok.
