Dr. Craig Luplow (“Loop-low”), M.D., is a fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon who joined Pacific Rim Orthopedic Surgeons in 2024. He graduated from the University of Wyoming and attended medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine. Dr. Luplow then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Ohio State University, followed by a hand and upper extremity fellowship at SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Luplow specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of orthopedic problems affecting the upper extremity, including fractures, arthritis, nerve compressions, sports injuries, and other conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Common upper extremity procedures he performs include carpal tunnel release (endoscopic and open) and other nerve decompressions, trigger finger release, soft tissue repair or reconstruction (including tendon and ligament), fracture fixation, hand arthritis surgery, arthroscopy (wrist and elbow), and shoulder arthroplasty. No matter the problem, he takes pride in providing up-to-date, comprehensive, and personalized care to help patients get back to the activities they love.
Originally from Wyoming, Dr. Luplow and his family are thrilled to make their home back west in beautiful Bellingham. He and his wife—with their two young kids and two pups in tow—love to be surrounded by the Great Outdoors, from skiing to backpacking to floating down a river. They’re looking forward to sharing those passions with their children in this adventure-loving town. When time allows, Dr. Luplow also enjoys woodworking, DIY tinkering, 3D printing, playing guitar and singing, playing hockey, and generally learning new and interesting things. His unofficial motto: “Always be learning.”
