He emphasizes patient-centered communication and care and has in-depth expertise in the latest minimally invasive, arthroscopic techniques for the shoulder, knee, and elbow. Dr. Nelson received his Doctorate of Medicine at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Stony Brook University in NY. His participation, in and love of, sports propelled him toward fellowship training in sports medicine at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA, where he had the opportunity to provide on-field coverage for multiple collegiate and professional teams. Dr. Nelson is currently the orthopedic consultant for several local high schools, and provides orthopedic care for many local baseball, volleyball, and soccer clubs.

I’ve been seeing Dr Nelson for a few years now doing my cortisone and gel injections in both of my knees due to the damage from playing very competitive racket ball when I was younger.
I liked him. He was respectful, decisive, yet willing to listen to my concerns. Gave clear instructions and didn't close the door on possible further treatment down the road. I appreciated his conservative approach to treatment.
Quick visit and he goy to the point going forward
