He emphasizes patient-centered communication and care and has in-depth expertise in the latest minimally invasive, arthroscopic techniques for the shoulder, knee, and elbow. Dr. Nelson received his Doctorate of Medicine at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Stony Brook University in NY. His participation, in and love of, sports propelled him toward fellowship training in sports medicine at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA, where he had the opportunity to provide on-field coverage for multiple collegiate and professional teams. Dr. Nelson is currently the orthopedic consultant for several local high schools, and provides orthopedic care for many local baseball, volleyball, and soccer clubs.

I was very happy with the service.
I waited 45 minutes to see the doctor for a 5 minute post op appointment.

Didn’t even look at nor touch my foot. Have a spiral fracture and had to have it reset in the ER - said the doc was overzealous for doing so. My bone was severely displaced. Questioned why there was 2 X-rays - was before and after…because again, spiral fracture. Then had the audacity to say I will see you in four weeks. Absolutely not - will never be coming back to AZ Ortho. Will be seeing another provider.
Cory is amazing and friendly person I wish all doctors is same as him!!
