Dr. Nelson received his Doctorate of Medicine at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Stony Brook University in NY. His participation, in and love of, sports propelled him toward fellowship training in sports medicine at the renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA, where he had the opportunity to provide on-field coverage for multiple collegiate and professional teams. Dr. Nelson is currently the orthopedic consultant for several local high schools, and provides orthopedic care for many local baseball, volleyball, and soccer clubs.

No nonsense, straight forward.
I’ve seen Dr. Nelson for 10 years or more and he is a very good doctor but recently when I’ve had appointments he has always been rushed and I always feel like he just refers me to others. Dose not really seem to care as much as he used too
Dr. Nelson has performed surgery on both of my shoulders: one involving a ruptured bicep and the other a rotator cuff reconstruction. He and his staff are top notch in skills and interactions. Hope I don’t have to have another surgery, but I’d definitely go back to Dr. Nelson and Ortho Arizona if I did!
