Originally from Media, Pennsylvania, Dr. Muetterties was eager to return to the Philadelphia area after completing his surgical training, to heal patients in the same community that he calls home.

Dr. Muetterties is proud to be part of the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center, where he focuses on a wide range of upper extremity issues, including trauma, reconstructive surgery, and microsurgery. His clinical interests include addressing complex conditions such as nerve injuries, upper extremity fractures, arthritis, limb salvage, and free tissue transfer. He is also dedicated to improving surgical techniques and patient outcomes, with ongoing research in areas including microvascular surgery and enhanced recovery after surgery protocols.

Dr. Muetterties has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presents his findings at national and international conferences. His research often challenges existing paradigms, aiming to refine and improve treatment approaches with a focus on improving patient care. Dr. Muetterties grew up in Media, Pennsylvania where he currently lives with his wife, son, and two cats. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, snowboarding, and enjoying the incredible restaurants and breweries of the Philadelphia area.
