Dr. Colleen Walters conducts comprehensive eye exams, contact lens exams and has a special interest in strabismus.
Dr. Walters is a Therapeutic Optometrist who obtained her degree from the University of Houston, College of Optometry in 1987. She completed an externship with Dr. Charles Garcia, a retinal ophthalmologist at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Walters practiced with a large HMO in the Houston area until 1988. Since then, she has practiced in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Before joining Ophthalmology Consultants in 1996, Dr. Walters maintained a private practice in Farmers Branch. Dr. Walters maintains a family practice. She has always been comfortable examining children as well as adults and has developed a large pediatric patient base. She provides routine care for all ages as well as care to specialty strabismus and contact lens patients. Dr. Walters and her husband, David, a Chiropractic Professor at Parker University, have three wonderful children. Two are successfully attending college, and the youngest is a high school junior. Dr. Walters is active in Shady Grove Church and in the Irving community, she plays softball, and she and her daughters have recently explored cake decorating.
