Didn’t ask if I was on other medications before dialation / eye drops for examination and now experiencing side effects / pain …..

Very nice and professional, but, one Def gets the impression that We are very busy and need to move along ! And you ARE Very busy . I feel that I must keep it down to all business … no getting to know anyone . Too busy .

I know you are very busy, but I felt rushed by Dr. McInnis. He did answer my questions, but as an older lady I felt a little stressed with his visit.

Appt felt very rushed and don’t feel like I got all of my concerns addressed. However he did say the front of eyes looked healthy and didn’t seem concerned with addressing anything. I wasn’t sure if my concerns would have changed that but seems that they did not.

Great communication! The techs all knew what was needed to make my visit with the doctor efficient and all made me feel confident my concerns are in good hands.

To start with the good. Reception is awesome and very accommodating. They got me in to be seen quickly which I really appreciate. I saw Colin McInnis today. He was super rushed, didn’t talk to me about the product he was going to be putting in my eye. I did not see him wash his hands or use sanitizer before touching my eye with his hands. He didn’t seem approachable either because usually I would have asked him to wash his hands before he touched my eye but his demeanor was so rushed and not personal. I walked away feeling unsettled and anxious.

Dr.McInnis is usually not the doctor I see, but mine was not in the office the day I needed to come in for an unscheduled visit. He took the time to explain what was happening, did all the necessary test to see what was going on with my eye. He scheduled a follow up to check on the eye again to make sure no new issues have developed and my eye is ok.

Everyone was cheerful, professional, very informative and very courteous. What a fabulous doctor’s office and staff! Thank you!.

Dr. McInnis is a very thorough, skilled, and attentive ophthalmologist who listens to your concerns and addresses them as presented. There is one small area in which we do not agree but he is respectful of my thinking and as it does not impact on treatment, we agree to disagree!! Unlike some drs, he shares all information and responds to each issue with thoughtful insights. His staff of technicians are considerate and also thorough and very friendly.

I was in the building for 2 hours due to a scheduling issue (including a 45 minute wait in the exam room), and when Dr. McInnis came in he was dismissive, overconfident in his abilities, and the exact opposite of reassuring. I will not be coming back.

My appointments here consistently take 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Lots of waiting!. I like the staff and Dr McInnis.

I had an emergency and he fit me in….. which was great and then on top of that he was wonderful!!!

I appreciated that he put on a mask when he saw I wore one. He was clear, polite and explained everything.

Personal and professional

Dr McInnis has provided some great guidance for me and I've appreciated having local expertise as I navigated an out of state optical/neurosurgery. My rating is lower because Dr McInnis has been unempathetic as a provider. He has cut me off while asking questions, started interactions without any sort of general greeting/check in, and gone to put drops in my eyes without explaining what to expect even though I have experienced a lot of discomfort with some of the drops/tests. In my last visit I also gave this feedback directly to Dr McInnis. In general he seemed defensive and to not genuinely listen to feedback provided. He also suggested that because my (very major) surgery was a "treatable" case when he often deals with blindness that he felt that the empathy I was asking for was somehow not justified. I said that empathy is about the patient experience, not his or cases he sees in a day. For other patients + colleagues, I hope he can re-assess his approach.

Dr. McInnis is thorough, personable and explains everything in understandable detail. I'm very pleased with having him as a doctor for my eye care.

I felt like Dr. McInnis was rushed when he entered the room. It was the end of the day so perhaps he was hoping to leave soon. I didn't feel like I had the chance to really explain to him what was going on before he started telling me what he thought was happening. He began by telling me my eyesight is actually quite good - which was precisely the opposite reason I had scheduled an appointment in the first place. He said this multiple times after which I corrected him, explaining that my vision in my left eye is actually quite poor and I was very concerned about it. I came into this appointment scared because of the sudden vision issues I was experiencing. I felt like he made quick assumptions about what was going on, based on inaccurate test data collected by the nurse (that experience was another issue) rather than listening to what I was telling him. Overall, I did not feel understood by him, and left my appointment wishing I gone somewhere else with my concern.

I would have liked to have visited and have Dr McGinnis look at my eyes longer
