She then attended Yale University School of Medicine where her final thesis dealt with identifying child abuse and neglect. She also co-authored a report with the Yale University Law school through Human Rights Watch on the juvenile detention centers in Jamaica. She completed her pediatric training at the Massachusetts General Hospital. She is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.
