Excellent communication regarding what is involved with the surgery, pain, bruising, and follow up was above top notch. I had some concerns with my extra swelling and bruising. After his personal follow up, he was absolutely correct if i continue with post op instructions i will notice a difference in a couple days. However it was as soon as the next day. His confidence was reassuring and peace of mind.

Dr Van Hofwegen did a TKR on my right knee. He did an excellent job, in pain before the surgery. Six weeks PO, no pain!

Waited for almost an hour just to be seen... Then, it seems as though he didn't even want to help me at all... It already tough to get service in Whatcom County. But it's scary when you don't know if a Doctor is going to honor their oath to help all. Or, if the Doctors don't like you? A person might not get their proper service...

First appt with Dr VanHofwegen....like him...but must admit I wasn't happy to hear his surgical schedule is 3 months out. The waiting game begins!

Dr. Chris is a very personable surgeon and does his best to answer all of your questions and concerns. He did my knee this last week and it was a great success. Between him, and Frazier Coe and his assistant Anita, and all the staff at St. Joe's made it a good experience.

I liked him for his honesty and reassurance, but I didn't leave feeling very satisfied with my care. I went to see him as a second opinion for my previous orthopedic doctor's recommendation for a knee replacement. Thankfully I found out during my appointment with Dr. Hofwegen that this was completely unnecessary which I am grateful for as I am only twenty-one. However, the knee brace that he gave me ended up hurting my knee worse after wearing it and walking on it for less than an hour after the appointment. I was basically told to keep doing PT and walking, and keep at it without any recommendation for further assistance with the pain and instability issues I am suffering from. The knee brace didn't even stop my knee from hyperextending while walking which is the entire problem in the first place. He didn't even look at the previous orthopedic doctor's notes or the MRI which led to the recommendation in the first place for the knee replacement. No follow-up recommended either.

Dr Van Hofwegen was very thorough, kind and answered all my questions. I loved how down to earth he was. Very professional and would definitely recommend him to friends/family.

I only saw Dr. Hofwegen one time for a second opinion so I can give an informed opinion. What I can say is this. He was friendly and seemed to be knowledgeable.

Incredibly good rapport with patients.

Dr "Hof" is outstanding. Just one example is his ability to give steroid injections (for OA joints) that are virtually painless and last longer than any other I've ever had.

This doctor is absolutely fabulous. I got a shot in my shoulder (which requires .a full replacement but at 85 I'm trying to hold out) which left me pain free for 14 months. Not only was my shoulder better but so was my back and my hip. He listens to you and takes his time to explain everything to you. You won't be disappointed with the resuts.

Excellent surgeon my rotatory cuff surgery went well beyond my expectations. Prior to the surgery I heard all these terrible stories about how painful the surgery recovery was going to be. I quit taking the pain pills after just four days.

although I didn't need surgery the Doctor was still helpful.... a few more suggestions on how to resolve my issue might have been helpful.
