Dr. Chris Pittman, MD, FAVLS, FACR, FACP

Dr. Christopher Pittman, M.D., FAVLS, FACR, FACP, is a triple board-certified, minimally invasive surgeon specializing in vein care, with over 30 years of medical experience. He has dedicated his career to delivering award-winning, world-renowned vein treatment, education, and research while passionately advocating for patients suffering from vein disease who might not realize help is available.

Dr. Pittman serves as the Founder and Executive Chairman of Vein911® Vein Treatment Centers, one of the nation’s leading destinations for vein care.

Known for his innovative approaches and compassionate patient care, he has helped thousands of patients overcome vein conditions and improve their quality of life.

Over his career, Dr. Pittman has earned board certifications in Diagnostic Radiology, Vascular & Interventional Radiology, and Venous & Lymphatic Medicine. These credentials, along with decades of hands-on practice, make him uniquely qualified to diagnose and treat even the most complex vein conditions using minimally invasive techniques. He remains active in medical education as an Affiliate Assistant Professor of Radiology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Pittman directs an American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine-accredited fellowship program – one of only five such vein specialty training programs in the United States – where he mentors the next generation of vein specialists.

Dr. Pittman is the inventor of the EDGE Procedure™, a groundbreaking minimally invasive treatment for men with venous leak erectile dysfunction — a condition that contributes to nearly 80% of ED cases. This patent-pending procedure targets and seals “leaky” veins in the pelvis to restore normal blood flow, offering a revolutionary non-surgical solution for ED caused by venous insufficiency.

He has also been a pioneer in advancing other vein treatment techniques, especially Ultrasound-Guided Foam Sclerotherapy (UGFS) for varicose veins. Dr. Pittman’s enthusiasm for this technique even earned him the nickname “Foamaholic” among colleagues. By championing leading-edge, less invasive procedures like foam sclerotherapy, he continues to expand treatment options, improve patient comfort, and achieve excellent outcomes for those suffering from vein disease.

Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Pittman takes on influential roles in the medical community. He is the founding Chairman of Health Performance Specialists (HPS) – the management organization behind Vein911 and the largest independent vein care network in the U.S. – and serves as President of the TransAmerican Sclerotherapy Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit devoted to educating physicians and promoting the patient benefits of vein treatments like sclerotherapy. Dr. Pittman also moderates a global online forum of nearly 2000 vein care physicians focused on foam sclerotherapy, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among specialists worldwide.

As a passionate advocate for better healthcare, Dr. Pittman has been a vocal voice in health policy and medical innovation for over 30 years. He has held leadership positions in professional medical societies and advisory boards at the local, state, national, and international levels, striving to improve patient care beyond his own practice. He is frequently invited to speak at medical conferences on topics ranging from telemedicine and health information technology to healthcare economics and physician entrepreneurship – reflecting his role as a thought leader in the future of healthcare. Furthermore, as part of his public outreach, Dr. Pittman served as Executive Producer of a reality television series showcasing real patient stories and treatments at Vein911. This innovative show helped educate the public about vein disease and the life-changing results possible with proper treatment.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Pittman is a devoted husband and father of four. He is also a 28-year cancer survivor, a personal journey that has deepened his empathy for patients and fuels his compassionate approach to care. In his free time, he enjoys artistic outdoor roller skating – a hobby that reflects his vibrant spirit and commitment to staying active. Through both his professional work and personal experiences, Dr. Chris Pittman remains dedicated to improving the lives of patients and bringing hope to those suffering from vein-related conditions.
