I had right shoulder replacement 10/30/24, and now going for left in July. The former went smoothly, with very little pain during recovery, and I am ready for more of the same!
My wife and I both have the utmost respect for Dr. McDowell. He’s professional, proactive, personable, and to the point. We always smile when he comes in, discuss business, and end up parting satisfied with the outcome!

Dr McDowell has been great to work with giving me understandable explanations of my surgery and what I need to do to fully recover.
Dr. Christopher McDowell is Orthopaedic East’s newest fellowship-trained orthopedic physician. He completed his fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Massachusetts, where he also supported the team physicians of the Boston Red Sox. Dr. McDowell completed his undergraduate program at The Citadel, where he was an accomplished student-athlete and the team captain of the football team his senior year. Dr. McDowell has been married to his wife, Peg, for ten years and has a 7-year old daughter, who loves softball. We are excited to have Dr. McDowell join our team!
