Dr. Christopher M. Jones, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon who has advanced board certification in orthopaedic sports medicine. He treats athletes and disorders of the shoulder, knee, hip, and elbow using minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques.
Dr. Jones brings unique expertise to Hughston Clinic in the treatment of multi-ligament knee injuries and hip preservation surgery. He joined Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics after serving as Team Physician and Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL.
Dr. Jones has additional certification in cartilage restoration techniques and robotic knee and shoulder replacement.

Dr. Jones completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at the esteemed American Sports Medicine Institute (ASMI) in Birmingham, AL, under the direction of Drs. James Andrews, Jeffrey Dugas, Lyle Cain, and Benton Emblom. At ASMI, he received the 2015-2016 award for excellence in clinical research for the American Sports Medicine Fellowship Society. In Birmingham, Dr. Jones assisted with the care of athletes from Troy University, the University of Alabama, Auburn University, World Wrestling Entertainment, and several professional teams from around the country.
Dr. Jones received his undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Maryland, where he graduated with honors and several research awards. He continued his education at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, where he graduated with honors and as a member of the distinguished Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. He then went on to complete his orthopedic surgery residency at SUNY Stony Brook Medical Center in Stony Brook, NY, where he was chief administrative resident from 2014 to 2015 and received awards for research excellence as a resident.

I didn't choose Dr. Jones so I was a little leary when I got to the office. My first interaction was with the most amazing receptionist who kept checking on mt throughout the entire process. Making sure that I was being taken care of each step of the way. The young lady that did my x-rays was sweet and very professional. Making sure that nothing was hurting before she took each shot. She slowly walked me back to my room. Then, Dr. Jones... I was just blown away with his knowledge and caring advice. He talked to me like I was family. But he didn't push me into anything. He gave me my options and left the choice to me. He also didn't jump to major surgery either. We are going with what I consider a fantastic option which will put me back on my feet the same day as surgery. Without the long recovery time of major surgery or just letting it heal on it's own. Dr. Jones ROCKS! Then the young lady that got my info for surgery was amazing as well! I won't go anywhere else for orthopedic care!
He is kind, compassionate, professional, & a fantastic surgeon. He took time to answer my questions/concerns.
What a fantastic experience seeing Dr Jones! Very knowledgeable and careful. He also factored in the time sensitivity of repairing my injury, for which I am grateful.

I absolutely love this doctor. After being struck by a motor vehicle while walking. He’s done over a dozen surgeries in the last 5 1/2 years for me & I still have several more to go. Because of him I now have mobility in my left leg.
