Chris Hebert, MD is a board-certified and fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon, specializing in foot and ankle surgery. He grew up in Lake Charles, but the majority of his family is from Lafayette and Vermilion Parish.
Prior to joining Louisiana Orthopaedic Specialist, Dr. Hebert cared for patients at Acadiana Orthopedic Group and University of Texas Medical Branch, where he also served as an Assistant Professor. Dr. Hebert received his fellowship training at the University of Washington in Seattle and studied with Dr. Sigvard Hansen, pioneer in orthopaedic surgery and author who has written textbooks in orthopedics and foot and ankle surgery. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency program at Tulane University Medical Center.
Dr. Hebert obtained his medical degree from Tulane Medical School, where he was awarded an Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society Membership by finishing in the top ten percent of his medical school class. He completed his undergraduate studies at McNeese State University.
In 1998, he moved home to Louisiana to establish a private practice specializing in foot and ankle surgery in Lafayette. Dr. Hebert is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), the American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS), the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association (LOA), and the Lafayette Parish Medical Society (LPMS).

I was expecting to see Dr. Hebert but I didn’t. The nurse practitioner examined me and the doctor didn’t see me at all. I prefer if they tell me before the appointment that I am going to the practitioner instead of the doctor.
Dr Hebert was awesome! Took the time to explain my condition as well as answered all my questions fully. The problem I encountered was after Dr Hebert saw me I was told to wait in the room til someone came to get me. The front staff person came in with a scheduled appointment card and said I was good to go. I was not asked to go to the desk in his area to look at my schedule to ensure the date and time was GOOD FOR ME. When I walked to the area and looked at what was scheduled I told the scheduler that I had another appointment at that time and needed to move the appointment. SHE TOLD ME I COULD JUST CALL KATER AND RESCHEDULE THE APPOINTMENT!!!!! So I explained to her that I was in front of her and since she is the one that had just scheduled the appointment it would be more logical for her to do it then. She was not happy with me telling her that and pretty did it but her service and facial expressions did not give me a satisfied result. Good customer service not delivered. Thank you
