Dr. Christopher D. Flanagan received his medical degree from The University of Chicago and completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. During residency, Dr. Flanagan received an Allen Fellowship grant which allowed him to perform an additional year of biomechanical and clinical research. Dr. Flanagan then completed an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute.

Dr. Christopher D. Flanagan was born in Arlington Heights, Illinois and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. Despite Chicago-area roots, Dr. Flanagan is an avid Green Bay Packers fan, as he spent many summers in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. He received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University, majoring in both Neuroscience and Mathematics. He received his medical degree from The University of Chicago and completed his residency at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. During residency, Dr. Flanagan received an Allen Fellowship grant which allowed him to perform an additional year of biomechanical and clinical research. Dr. Flanagan received two awards during residency recognizing him as both a distinguished junior resident and chief resident amongst his peers. Dr. Flanagan then completed an Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Florida Orthopaedic Institute.
Dr. Flanagan specializes in the delivery of complex fracture care as well as management of sequalae associated with traumatic injury. Dr. Flanagan has special interests in post-traumatic osteomyelitis, malunion correction, and non-union management. He also treats chronic conditions, including hip and knee arthritis. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Flanagan also performs academic research to develop the next generation of patient care techniques. Dr. Flanagan has received multiple grants to support his academic interests.
Dr. Flanagan understands that traumatic injuries affect both the physical and mental health of patients. His compassionate approach seeks to treat patient’s physical injuries while at the same time restoring emotional wellbeing. Dr. Flanagan recognizes that a team approach can best care for a patient’s whole self, not simply their orthopaedic injury.
As a new father, Dr. Flanagan enjoys spending time with his wife, Sofia, his newborn son, Julian, and his dog, Murphy. In his spare time, Dr. Flanagan loves participating in athletic events as well as reading the latest research in Orthopaedic medicine.
