Dr. Christopher Bookout, M.D., is an experienced, board-certified Orthopaedic Surgeon who has been in practice for 27 years, all in the Pensacola area. He treats a wide range of musculoskeletal problems, including sports injuries, arthritis, fractures and overuse injuries. He uses the latest nonoperative and operative techniques, including minimally invasive knee and shoulder arthroscopy. He also performs knee and shoulder replacements.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Wayne State University. Dr. Bookout completed his General Surgery internship and Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Dr. Bookout served in the US Navy and originally came to the area as a staff Orthopaedic Surgeon at Pensacola Naval Hospital. Prior to this, he served as a US Naval Flight Surgeon for Oceanographic Development Squadron Eight. As a team physician, Dr. Bookout has traveled extensively to Europe and Canada with USA Hockey. He has served as a team physician for Santa Rosa County Schools since 1999 and currently serves as the team physician for Milton and Pace High Schools.

He’s the best doctor that I ever encountered. After the office visit, I felt like my problems have been fully taken care of.
The staff answers the phone which is refreshing but they always have. Dont like the tablet check in but the front desk employee was very kind and helpful. I do not wish to be on a portal.

Dr Bookout is a great surgeon. He did a reverse shoulder replacement. He explained everything very clearly and easy for me to understand. The staff is friendly. Also they have therapy sessions at his office. They are all wonderful. I highly recommend North Florida Bone and Joint Specialist in Milton
