Dr. Christopher A. Heck joined Southlake Orthopaedics in January 2018. Prior to joining our team, Dr. Heck practiced orthopaedics in Montgomery, Alabama for the last 10 years specializing in spine surgery. Dr. Heck always thought he would follow in his father’s footsteps becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon. Instead, he quickly learned in medical school he had a strong love for physics and orthopaedics became the surgical field he would choose. Dr. Heck is from Mobile, Alabama.
He graduated from Medical School at the University of South Alabama in Mobile and completed a General Surgery Internship and Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Heck then went to Duke University for his Spine Fellowship. In addition to his busy spine surgery practice, Dr. Heck is also an instructor for NuVasive. He teaches XLIF, a minimally invasive spine surgery to colleagues across the Country.
Dr. Heck and his wife, Susan, have two children. When Dr. Heck is not in surgery, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and traveling. He is also a car enthusiast.
Dr Heck is very pleasant and you can tell her cares for his patients. Concerned about your well being and just ready to cut. He gave me options. I did PT and I feel better. Thank you Dr Heck

Very thorough in everything he does. I presented with a problem after surgery that was totally unexpected. He made sure I received the necessary help and I was more than pleased with the outcome.
I recently changed health insurance from United Health to Ambetter insurance my copay was $100.00 for specialty doctors and $ 50.00 for primary with United Health now I pay $40.00 for specialty doctor and $ 20.00 for primary with AmBetter and because he doesn’t take Ambetter insurance he said that this would be his last time seeing me just 21/2 months into my major back surgery he was going to refer me to a pain management doctor what the hell I don’t what be on pain medication the rest of my life.No payment arrangements or anything will never refer him to anyone😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
