Dr. Heck is a brilliant surgeon and his staff are excellent,

Really wasn’t helpful. Just scribbled down stuff and had me move around for mobility. Told him about my past chronic back pain of disc disease and annular tear. Didn’t discuss x-ray results. Just said it was a muscle issue. He told me to try therapy and get back with him after a month.

Listened to me and explained procedure and recovery very well.

Poor bedside manner.

I believe from my experience he and his staff to be tbe best ortho doc here.

Very poor rapport with my elderly mother, did not introduce himself to me, who was accompanying the patient. Quick insensitive physical of my mother. Clearly doesn’t have empathy of our senior citizens. In a hurry to move on, I was not impressed at all. Will not come back.

Dr. Heck was the 4th dr I went to see to get help. He immediately saw my problem and we are on our way to getting it fixed. Thanks

Doctor Heck is very knowledgeable and took time explaining how he wanted to proceed to determine the treatment I would need.

Impersonal, brief and incomplete explanation of diagnosis, as well as treatment plan, left with no method of pain relief and feeling he did not care.

Everyone was absolutely great!! They were so patient as they waited on information needed to make an accurate diagnosis. Dr. Heck and his staff are very professional.

I think very highly of Dr Heck and his staff. I have a large problem with the wait time. I checked in at 8:30AM for a 9:00AM appointment. Was taken back for X-rays at 8:45. Did not see the doctor till after 10. No explanation. No sorry for delay. No nothing. It is unacceptable.

This was my 1st time meeting him. He seemed very knowledgeable and confident. I liked that.

Wasn't not satisfied with the diagnos to where I had another surgeon doctor to look at my MRI disc and x-rays and they found issues with my lower back with my l1 disc said it was thin too thin but I am going to get another opinion which will be the third opinion.

He is a good surgeon. He has been there to help in anyway he can. I'm blessed to have him.

I was seen by Dr Heck for follow up after pain shot & PT. Staff was very efficient & friendly, and of course, Dr Heck gave me a “do-able” treatment plan.

Dr. Heck changed my life with surgery he performed on my back. I had an Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion. Before the surgery I was in terrible pain and could not stand up for longer than 5 minutes. The pain in my back, hip, and down my leg was excruciating. I am now 2-1/2 months out from surgery and have no back, hip, or leg pain. I am forever grateful to Dr. Heck and the team at Southlake Orthopaedics.

Dr. Heck was to the point and Knowledge. I didn't feel rushed or pressured into anything. From my experience from today I definitely would recommend him as a doctor.

I had no problems of a major sort with Dr, Heck and staff. They were friendly and professional helpful. I did think my time with Heck was hurried. He sent me to get an MRI & they got me set up in Alabaster. . Heck said the was going to write me a prescription for (5) valiums and to get it filled before the MRI.. I stopped at a pharmacy and filled on the way to MRI in Alabaster. I was to take 1 one 30 minutes before the MRI and another at the beginning of the MRI to relax me and an additional 3 for use @ home until a decision was made concerning my back So the extra 3 to help me at home were not on the prescription Heck gave me according to the pharmacy. They only gave me two based on what Heck wrote & soon we arrived at the MRI place & fill yet more paperwork &told it wouldn't be long before the MRI started so I took the 1st valium. When called to the back I took 2nd one. MRI was not done. Problem with possible stents in my heart. It all was wasted time and expense, I won't be back.

Dr.Heck is a wonderful doctor! I had 2 lumbar fusion’s within a year from another doctor in Birmingham that probably made my situation worse than it was before surgery. Found Dr.Heck and he absolutely changed my life! He is a god send! I would recommend anyone to him! You will not regret it! Thank you Dr.Heck for giving me my life back and making me feel like somebody again!
