Christine Lotto, MD

Dr. Christine Lotto is a board-certified, fellowship-trained general and vascular surgeon. As a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI), she is also a certified expert in assessing and diagnosing vascular conditions using ultrasound technology. She has a special interest in open and endovascular (minimally invasive) aneurysm repair.

Dr. Lotto earned her medical degree at Jefferson Medical College. She completed her general surgery residency and a research fellowship in fibrotic diseases at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She was fellowship trained in vascular and endovascular surgery at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and in advanced aortic endovascular surgery at the University of Skåne in Malmö, Sweden and L’Hȏpital Marie Lannelongue in Paris, France. Throughout her training she was the recipient of numerous research, teaching and technical awards.

Dr. Lotto relishes the camaraderie and intensity of the operating room and the tangible difference that surgery can make in patient's lives. She has co-authored chapters on vascular surgery for publication in medical texts, and articles on that and related topics in several medical journals. She is also a Principal Investigator in separate clinical trials for two hemodialysis devices and has presented research at regional, national and international conferences.

Continuing decades of volunteer service to those in need, Dr. Lotto is part of an interfaith coalition responsible for coordinating medical care for Afghan refugee families resettling in Bucks County, as well as a group that travels to Bolivia to perform liver transplantations and complex hepatobiliary surgery. She is also a weekly volunteer caretaker of sheep and goats at Washington Crossing Historic Park.

A dedicated distance runner who has qualified for the Boston Marathon, Dr. Lotto still runs at least one marathon every year.
