Dr. Christian Reintgen, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. He treats all conditions related to sports medicine such as ligament, tendon, muscle, meniscal or labral tears and cartilage injury through a minimally invasive or arthroscopic approach. A native of Florida, Dr. Reintgen graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a double-major in biochemistry and mathematics and the University of Florida College of Medicine as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at the University of Florida Department of Orthopedics and a Sports Medicine fellowship at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. During this time, he served as a team physician for the Samford University Bulldogs and Birmingham Barons, AA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
He has active memberships in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has published numerous articles in multiple peer-review journals and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
Outside of his practice with Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Reintgen enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, basketball, golf, skiing, traveling, and cheering for the Florida Gators.
