Dr. Christian Reintgen, M.D. is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. He treats all conditions related to sports medicine such as ligament, tendon, muscle, meniscal or labral tears and cartilage injury through a minimally invasive or arthroscopic approach. A native of Florida, Dr. Reintgen graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a double-major in biochemistry and mathematics and the University of Florida College of Medicine as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha. He completed his residency training in orthopedic surgery at the University of Florida Department of Orthopedics and a Sports Medicine fellowship at the prestigious American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. During this time, he served as a team physician for the Samford University Bulldogs and Birmingham Barons, AA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
He has active memberships in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He has published numerous articles in multiple peer-review journals and is a reviewer for the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
Outside of his practice with Florida Orthopaedic Institute, Dr. Reintgen enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, basketball, golf, skiing, traveling, and cheering for the Florida Gators.

Dr. Reintgen immediately made me feel at ease the moment he entered the room and introduced himself. He did a thorough examination, recommended further testing, and explained all my treatment options in detail from best to worse case scenario. I would certainly recommend Dr. Reintgen to my family and friends.

Compassionate, caring, good listener and responsive to your needs/wants and concerns. Clearly committed to building rapport with his patients-communicates without “talking down” to you and is present and in the moment with you(not making you feel like he does not have the time and needs to get done and move on to his next patient). BTW I was impressed with film clip interviews you played in the lobby. Your organization’s mission driven approach is very reassuring.
