Dr. Christen Cuevas, M.D. earned her Medical Doctorate degree and Master of Public Health degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In her Public Health training, she specialized in quality improvement and patient education.
Dr. Cuevas completed her dual residency training at Loma Linda University in southern California, in the combined Family and Preventive Medicine residency program. She was elected as Chief Resident and won awards for her work in quality improvement and patient safety. After graduating, she stayed on as faculty, training medical students and residents, while practicing primary care and addiction medicine at a Patient-Centered Medical Home in an underserved urban area. She also served for several years on the board of Directors of the California Academy of Preventive Medicine.
Additionally, Dr. Cuevas has done extra training in Lifestyle Medicine and Addiction Medicine, and has completed the University of California’s fellowship in Psychiatry for Primary Care Providers.
She went into the medical field to provide compassionate, ethical primary care to people in underserved communities. She chose her specialty training based on where she could best develop skills in whole-person care.
She chose to come to Gonzaba Medical Group because she wants to be a part of supporting its important mission and values as it grows.
Dr. Cuevas speaks English and Spanish fluently and is a Spanish Healthcare Interpreter. She grew up in Kansas City, but has also lived in Guadalajara, California, and Ohio. In her spare time, Dr. Cuevas loves to read, write, and compose music.

Very informative and quick responsive to questions
I observed a well rounded knowledge of current & new medicines, or alternative methods of treating the whole person allows the patient to be confident in her care.
She really listens well and takes action.
She listened and understood all my Concerns best doctor I have had in a long time
Terrible Doctor. Shows up late to her appointments.Has a bad attitude during visits. Wants me to sign contracts to get my meds or I'm cut off. I've been going to Gonzaba med clinic for almost 20 years. I am currently looking for a different professional establishment. Gonzaba medical clinic will not care about this review but it is what it is.

Dr Cuevas has been my doctor for some time now. I think she’s great. Concerned and helpful. Informative in area of expertise. Friendly and quick and patient. I would recommend her.
