He was the most arrogant and smug doctor I ever saw. I felt like he was upset that he had to see patients. I am extremely grateful that he chose to use an x ray (only) to tell me that even after having prior work done on my hips I have no issues. I can only imagine how it must feel to have him as a surgeon. We are just people who have pain that we can’t identify, so we call on professionals like you all to help us find answers. However, I would rather live in pain the rest of my life than to have to deal with a cocky doctor like him.

Any surgery can bring apprehension and tension but that all goes away when you have a clear and empathetic discussion with your doctor. Thank you Dr. Hoedt for your professionalism and ability to listen to your patients, I truly felt so much understanding from you.

Dr. Hoedt practiced in Nashville, TN for a couple of years before coming to Eastern North Carolina. He is a US Army combat veteran who returned from Syria in early 2023 where he was awarded an Army Commendation Medal.
He believes in an individualized approach to the management of hip and knee conditions. He actively engages the patient and their families in their care plan and incorporates the use of advanced techniques and technologies in a patient-specific fashion.
Outside of work, Dr. Hoedt enjoys spending time with his lovely wife and four amazing children at school events, extracurriculars, trips to the parks and beaches, and visiting family.
