Dr. Chet Nastala is a board-certified general and plastic surgeon who joined PRMA in 2002 and has since been instrumental in building one of the nation’s leading breast reconstruction programs. He continues to lead research efforts focused on nerve regeneration (TruSense) and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS), all aimed at improving patient outcomes and comfort. Before joining PRMA, Dr. Nastala served on the faculty at the University of Texas Health Science Center, where he earned national recognition for advancing plastic surgical education, developing the breast reconstruction program, and treating trauma patients across South Texas. His passion for teaching began during his residency at the University of Pittsburgh, where he received numerous honors, including the prestigious Charles C. Moore Teaching Award. Dr. Nastala has also held leadership roles as Secretary, Vice President, and President of the San Antonio International Society of Plastic Surgeons.
