Patients searching for relief from carpal tunnel syndrome, hand and wrist arthritis, nerve injuries, trigger fingers, extensor and flexor tendon injuries, as well as hand and wrist fractures often benefit from the treatment Dr. Benfield is uniquely trained to provide. Patients can schedule an appointment with Dr. Benfield at EmergeOrtho’s Greensboro Orthopedic Clinic to diagnose their condition and develop an individualized treatment plan.
As a doctor, Dr. Benfield says, “The thing that I enjoy the most about treating patients is helping them get back to doing what they want. For some, that could be returning to work, hobbies, or athletics. For others, it could be improving function and reducing pain for normal daily activities around the house.” He enjoys getting to know his patients. He recognizes the differences in everyone that make them who they are, with distinctive job requirements, hobbies, interests, and goals. Learning about and listening to his patients helps Dr. Benfield develop a treatment plan customized to their unique circumstances.
His interest in orthopedics started when he was a young kid. His father is an orthopedic surgeon in a small town. Witnessing his dad’s positive impact on his patients’ lives led Dr. Benfield to pursue a career in medicine. He chose to subspecialize in the upper extremity (hand, wrist, & elbow) for a few reasons. The complexity and intricacy of the hand and wrist and the variety of conditions involving these joints interest Dr. Benfield.
Dr. Benfield hopes his patients appreciate that everyone at EmergeOrtho is focused on helping them achieve their goals for healing and recovery. He believes orthopedics is a team sport, and we are all on the same page to provide quality, individualized care for everyone in our office.

Very nice and communicative. I feel that my condition is under control, and if that changes in the future I will receive the best treatment.
I am sure he is an excellent doctor but I didn’t get to see him. Appointment was at 2:30 today and I had to leave at 3:10 for another appointment at 3:30. Rescheduled appointment for August 4.
Couldn't be more pleased
