Dr. Charles Thompson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. After working 15 years in the medical field as a paramedic in south Louisiana, he completed his medical education at the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans.
He began his postgraduate medical training in internal medicine at Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He then completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, where he was also invited to serve for an additional year as chief cardiovascular fellow/interventional fellow.
Dr. Thompson is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular computed tomography. In 1990, he was awarded the MBB Golden Hour Award, an international award of excellence for an aeromedical crew. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and Louisiana State Medical Society. He was also invited to participate in the International Andreas Gruentzig Society which focuses on and meets to discuss the advancement of cardiovascular intervention.

He’s a great cardiologist and has been taking of me for years.
It's great that he's very thorough and takes the time to make sure you understand everything, you may have a little wait but it's worth it.
3 hours is to much time to set in pffice
Doctor Thompson is a very good doctor. Waiting time to see him is always long.
I admire and respect Dr Thompson and I trust him. He has been patient and generous to me with his time and knowledge.

Very informative
Dr. Thompson was called to an emergency. I was left sitting in an exam room for approximately an hour before the office manager informed me that he was attending an emergency.
I really enjoyed talking with Dr Thompson. I appreciate the fact that he took the time to explain so much. Thank you.
