Dr. Charles Thompson received his undergraduate degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in Lafayette. After working 15 years in the medical field as a paramedic in south Louisiana, he completed his medical education at the LSU School of Medicine in New Orleans.
He began his postgraduate medical training in internal medicine at Earl K. Long Medical Center in Baton Rouge. He then completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport, where he was also invited to serve for an additional year as chief cardiovascular fellow/interventional fellow.
Dr. Thompson is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular computed tomography. In 1990, he was awarded the MBB Golden Hour Award, an international award of excellence for an aeromedical crew. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians, and Louisiana State Medical Society. He was also invited to participate in the International Andreas Gruentzig Society which focuses on and meets to discuss the advancement of cardiovascular intervention.

I love his professionalism but as for as medicine and medicine prescribe by primary doctor differs. But I guess they need to look at primary medicine before prescribing what he fell is best because he is concerned with the heart. But with other issues has to be known and treated acording to same ,

Dr Thompson was very thorough during my visit. I feel confident in having him as my cardiologist.
An appointment should not take two hours. Waiting an hour after the nurse did an EKG and BP and completed computer questions is unacceptable. No communication with anyone during that time period.
He’s a great cardiologist and has been taking of me for years.
It's great that he's very thorough and takes the time to make sure you understand everything, you may have a little wait but it's worth it.
