In 2003 Dr. Charles Bugg started performing robotic surgery with Urology Centers of Alabama. He was one of the original members of the robotics team and has performed thousands of robotic surgeries which he performs weekly. Through the years, he has helped modify the surgical technique to improve cancer cure, urinary control, and potency. Dr. Bugg also performs minimally invasive and robotic surgery for kidney cancer and benign prostatic enlargement. His clinical interests also include close participation with the Urology Centers advanced prostate cancer clinic.
Dr. Bugg graduated from the University of Alabama magna cum laude in premed with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Biology. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama School of Medicine (UAB) in Birmingham, Alabama. He completed two years of general surgery and four years of urology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
