There seems to be some confusion among your staff about what Chandra can actually test for. I was told by one of Dr. K’s team that the allergy testing Chandra could provide would be so much more in-depth than what I had received from Dr. K’s tests. Apparently that is completely incorrect. The only testing offered was for 60 most common chemical compounds. When I asked about further environmental tests, she told me there wasn’t any. That she would preform the same as Dr. K. had already done. When I asked about testing for pharmaceutical allergies, I was told she could refer me to her mentor at Vanderbilt. I also asked about testing specifically for penicillin and levaquin allergies. I’ve had anaphylactic reactions to both in the past. I was told she could do a progressing Penicillin testing and it would take a few hours. For a test of Levaquin, I would have to get a pill from the hospital and bring it in so Chandra could give me the pill and wait see what type of reaction I would have.

Incredible enthusiastic, patient and listen to my concerns. I have a history of being overlooked or treated based on surface level symptoms. She sat with me the entire time learning about my past medical history. My concerns and is willing to treat based on my symptoms and not the labels I've been given. Such a blessing. Since 2020, Dr. Vethody has served as an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Allergy & Immunology at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. She is widely recognized for her research on drug allergies and immunodeficiencies, with her work published in leading medical journals and presented at national conferences such as the American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (AAAAI) and the American College of Allergy Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI).
Dr. Vethody is passionate about improving the quality of life for her patients and has volunteered extensively, providing care to underserved communities through nonprofit clinics. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys traveling, yoga, and trail running.
