Catherine Lucas, M.D.

Dr. Catherine Lucas was born and raised in the small town of Quitman, Louisiana. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Louisiana Tech University. She earned her Doctorate of Medicine, graduating summa cum laude, from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In 2003, she moved to Alabama, completing her Internal Medicine internship at the Baptist Health System in Birmingham, where she was named 2003 ‘Intern of the Year’. Dr. Lucas completed her Dermatology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2006 and remained at UAB as Assistant Professor of Dermatology the following year. She has practiced dermatology in Denver, Colorado and Jackson, Tennessee and in 2014 The Jackson Sun Readers’ Choice Awards named her Best Dermatologist for 2014.

In late 2014, Dr. Lucas moved to Tuscaloosa and joined Alabama Dermatology Associates. She has enjoyed developing lasting relationships with her patients and their families. She takes pride in providing excellent dermatologic care to her patients, caring for them with kindness, compassion and respect. She loves the variety that dermatology brings, treating all ages, a wide range of dermatology conditions, while also offering cosmetic treatments and medical grade skin care. She performs complete skin examinations and specializes in the detection and treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Lucas provides cosmetic services, filler injection.

In her free time, Dr. Lucas enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, traveling and cheering on the Crimson Tide!
