My only regret is I did not use Florida Orthopedic Institution's Dr. Ricketts as my initial orthopedic surgeon. Unfortunately I had complications from left knee surgery from a different medical provider. Through Veteran Administration Community Care, I was able to have my medical provider reassigned and I just left initial consultation with Dr. Ricketts. So refreshing to finally have a surgeon that is interested in the complications that I'm experiencing. Dr. Ricketts was able to express to me her intentions and display her professionalism moving forward with our game plan to try and improve matters. It took a tremendous load of anxiety off of my mind and I'm hoping that she will be able to help me with resolving the complications that I'm experiencing with my postop left knee surgery issues. Thank you doctor for displaying your sincerity and professionalism. Also the staff was very friendly and professional

Dr Ricketts was so phenomenal with my daughter. It was her first ever broken bone and it was broken in 3 places. The break needed to be rest in the office prior to surgery. Dr. Rickets was so patient with her and her anxiety she moved quickly of efficiently when resting her ankle.

Dr. Cassandra Ricketts is a board eligible orthopedic surgeon. She played for the Division I American University Women’s Volleyball team and was nominated as team captain her junior and senior years. She received her undergraduate degree at American University in Washington, DC where she was summa cum laude and valedictorian.
Dr. Ricketts cares for traumatic injuries of the upper and lower extremities, including acute and chronic trauma, post-traumatic complications, nonunion, malunion, and infection. She also treats chronic conditions including hip and knee arthritis with both conservative measures and joint replacement surgery.
Dr. Ricketts takes pride in caring for her patients regardless of background, age, gender, or physical capabilities. She helps patients return to their activities, work, and families through her surgical skill, counseling, and compassion. She is passionate about orthopedics because of the team-based approach and enjoys working with the great team at FOI.
In her spare time, Dr. Ricketts enjoys spending time with her family. She lives in Lakeland and loves being on or near water whenever possible.
