Dr. Cassandra McKarnin is a board-certified family medicine physician with more than 25 years of experience providing comprehensive primary care to individuals and families throughout the Kansas City area. She is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients and helping them achieve better health through preventive care, healthy lifestyle choices, and personalized treatment plans. Throughout her career, Dr. McKarnin has cared for patients across the lifespan, from adolescents to seniors, and considers it a privilege to care for multiple generations within the same family. Her approach to medicine focuses on listening carefully to each patient's unique concerns and partnering with them to develop practical, individualized strategies to achieve their health goals. Prior to joining KerixHealth, Dr. McKarnin served as a family medicine physician with Saint Luke's Physician Group for more than a decade and previously practiced with Olathe Health System for 15 years. In addition to her clinical work, she has held leadership roles within Saint Luke's Physician Group, including service on the Physician Leadership Committee and the Council of Chairs for Primary Care. Dr. McKarnin earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed her Family Medicine Residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and currently serves as an Adjunct Faculty member and Medical Student Preceptor for Kansas City University. Her clinical interests include preventive medicine, women's health, chronic disease management, joint injections, minor dermatologic procedures, and helping patients create sustainable habits that support lifelong wellness.
