Dr. Carl Y. Seon, MD, FAANA, FAAOS, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon with over 20 years of experience specializing in shoulder and elbow care. He is highly skilled in diagnosing and treating conditions of the musculoskeletal system, including injuries to the joints, muscles, bones, tendons, and ligaments. Dr. Seon emphasizes patient-centered care and typically recommends surgical intervention only after appropriate non-operative treatment options have been fully explored.
Prior to joining Whole Health Orthopedic Institute in 2022, Dr. Seon practiced at Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine of Erie, where he served as a partner following the completion of his fellowship training. He joined Whole Health Orthopedic Institute in 2022 and has been a valued member of the practice ever since, contributing his extensive experience and specialized expertise to patient care throughout the region.
Dr. Seon earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and attended medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, followed by advanced fellowship training in shoulder and elbow surgery at the prestigious Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Seon is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. He also holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
