Dr. Wood is wonderful! He explains things so well and spends a lot of time with you going over x-rays and explaining what the situation is. He has been my ankle doctor for many, many years, and I feel very comfortable with him! I have always trusted him with my care!

Lost hope to getting better at my age of 78, but he gave me hope with two things and happy to say I am without pain now.
Dr. David Wood approaches medicine with collaboration and conversation. In order to make a definitive diagnosis and develop the best overall plan, he acquires in-depth information from open communication with his patients to pinpoint areas of pain/discomfort and provide a roadmap for effective treatment. He recognizes and respects the role of the patient in the orthopedic equation and believes listening to concerns and asking questions identifies what is best for each person. There is no one-size-fits-all formula for foot and ankle issues. Dr. Wood was raised in Oklahoma and is proud to be back in his home state. After an exceptional 20-year career in Illinois, he is thrilled to return to the Sooner State and practice at McBride - a place he admired as a young man pursuing a career in orthopedic medicine. Dr. Wood and his wife, Lisa, have two grown sons. The family are tennis enthusiasts and exuberant Sooner fans.
