Great visit but very fast.

Dr. Blackwood gave me back my life with my two knee replacements. I had been crippled for years. I can now walk without a walker or a cane. I would not trust anyone else with my surgeries.

Feel confident in his skills

He is awesome! The only criticism I have is, while I appreciate the after visit notes, the physical assessments that I have had from both him & his PA (5+) does not reflect what was actually done. As a medical professional I understand a complete record is needed for insurance billing but it seems like fraud if it is written that a full physical exam was completed when it is not. I have seen other reviewers also give this criticism & I almost did not return after the first visit because of it.

This seems like a pretty tight operation. The only negative is a rushed and hurried appointment which makes it seem a bit robotic and impersonal.

Short meeting but he told me what was happening

Dr. Blackwood listens and understands that not all roads lead to surgery, at least not right away. He is willing to try alternate therapies until your body screams it needs something more aggressive like a joint replacement. I had excellent results with first steroid injection. About 3 months later I scheduled another one. So far it seems to be as effective as the first one! Thank you!

I saw Dr Blackwood in anticipation because of a knee that I felt would now need a surgical replacement. Dr Blackwood greeted myself and my husband professionally and explained true options that I could do. I elected to have a full knee replacement. Due to other family and travel responsibilities, this procedure, which he fully explained to us, will now take place this coming Fall. Dr Blackwood was very nice, and fully engaged with both myself and answered our questions complaining. I’m quite confident with what this procedure will be.

This man knows his work, how to do it, how to give his patience confidence in their own healing. One request, that before a patient decides on full knee replacement, s/he is told clearly, and directly, perhaps also in writing, that the recovery period is 6 months to one year.
