Bryce Kaye, Ph.D., is a psychologist and the Director of Cary Counseling Center. He is also one of the most experienced marriage counselors in the Raleigh Cary area having counseled thousands of couples over his 40 year career. His book The Marriage First Aid Kit was published in 2008 and contains many useful tools and insights for relationship management. Its chapters are freely available on this website as a courtesy.
Dr. Kaye obtained his license in 1979 after receiving his masters and doctorate from the University of Illinois with a specialty in personality. From 1977 through 1983 he was the Director of Outpatient Services for Wake County Alcoholism Treatment Center. While there, he authored and directed a federal research grant that developed the outpatient program.
In 1984, Dr. Bryce Kaye started Cary Counseling Center which later became incorporated under the name Allied Psychological Services. He has had years of experience in performing individual psychotherapy, marriage counseling, and substance abuse counseling. He is a certified EMDR therapist for treating trauma and is on the research committee of the EMDR International Association. Dr. Kaye has also developed several forms of individual psychotherapy based on his knowledge of personality and psychophysiology. These include an auto-hypnotic treatment for multiple personality disorder, Autonomy Shift Training to strengthen personal boundaries and reduce dysfunctional anger, Hypnotic Resource Grafting to heal emotional trauma, and Autonomous Corrections exercises to increase level of consciousness
