Dr Shiu is not only an excellent surgeon, but also an exceptional human being as well . One of the finest Doctors I have ever met. As I was told when I was in medical school, it’s the surgeon you don’t see after the surgery that show just how successful they are. In some ways, it can be a thankless job, but they know when they do not see you - the operation they performed was a complete success. My first operation with Dr Shiu was a complete success. I look forward to my upcoming surgery with the utmost confidence.I highly highly recommend Dr Shiu!

A native of Maryland, Dr. Shiu received his medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, where he also received the Thomas Gillespie Award for Excellence in Orthopaedics. He completed his residency training at the University of Maryland Medical Center including time at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Shiu was then selected for a fellowship at Columbia University’s Center for Shoulder, Elbow, and Sports Medicine in New York City.
During his orthopaedic training, he has assisted in the medical care of athletes from Columbia University, New York Yankees, and Rockland Boulders baseball teams as well as local high school teams in Maryland.
