Dr. Brian Parker, M.D. grew up in Cullman County and attended West Point High School. His path to medicine was not direct. After high school, he attended Wallace State Community college and received an associates degree in business. Shortly after graduating, he married his wife Karen. Unsure of what to do next he left his job as a butcher for the local Walmart distribution center where he would work for the next 7 years. The last three years of which he also worked a construction job in his free time.

Just seen him for the first time. He seemed very thorough and took his time listening to my questions and concerns. Time will tell, but I think I’m going to like having him as my GM doctor😊

Outstanding doctor! At 51 years old, I’ve had plenty of doctors over the years. Dr. Parker is by far the best one I’ve had. He takes time to listen, and actually cares about his patients.

Unsure of what to do next he left his job as a butcher for the local Walmart distribution center where he would work for the next 7 years. The last three years of which he also worked a construction job in his free time. After reflecting on his goals and desire to help others he decided he needed a career change and chose to pursue medicine. He continued to work at Walmart distribution while finishing his undergraduate degree at Athens State University. After that, he was accepted to the University of Alabama School of Medicine. His last two years of medical school were done in Huntsville AL where he stayed to complete his Family Medicine Residency. He had his son during his third year of Medical school and added his daughter after the first year of residency and are expecting their third child in June of 2019. He is excited to be returning to Cullman to serve his Community.
