Explained what’s going on, offered potential tests and treatments with risks etc then together made a plan for treatment

I have to say my first visit with this physician was a little frustrating. Reason being, I was already frustrated with the problem I was having and upon his encounter with me he asked what I needed? As if he didn't even look over chart prior to my first visit. And then he grabs the area of my pain begins to squeeze and I flinched back because he was hurting me when I told him that part was hurting for him to continue was a little annoying. I had to go home and take another pill for the pain. However, day of surgery he was better to deal with and did a great job. After visit was better and he was careful not to cause more pain.

As always he understands my needs.

He rushes in and out, doesn't ask you if you have any questions or concerns, and then as your talking he is walking down the hallway away from you not caring to stop and show he cares about your concern that you ask him about, and the as I'm talking to him the nurse rudly says to me come on this way. Just know I don't want him as my Dr next time if need be.

He was very nice and efficient when he came but my in and out experience for only a cortisone shot was 1:45. I thought that was ridiculous.

As always, Dr. Keener took his time and answered all my questions. Surgery is my next step, but waiting until he investigates which direction we will go.

I needed a Cortez one shot in the hand. Previous time a sterile towel has been put on the table. This time I just put my hand on the computer table and he spray it with the numbing spray ( which went all over the table and gave me the shot in my hand. I realize the doctor is busy, but!

I had to wait 66 years before I needed any surgery and carpal tunnel was my first. He was very cordial and spoke in layman’s terms. He also had a great rapport with his surgical staff, as I had the opportunity to have it done while awake and listen to the fun in the OR. I recommend him for carpal tunnel surgery if you need it.

At first he looked like a nice doctor but then he had an attitude during the visit and it got really hard to explain my problems. I felt rushed and like my injury was a joke. I wasn’t expecting to slightly argue with him about how I felt. Then he made me feel like I have to make the decision on when I will heal. I’m not a doctor that’s why I came to see him....

Dr. Keener was very pro active treating my trigger fingers. After removing stitches at my post-opt visit, the decision was made to get cortisone injections for fingers beginning with symptoms.

Dr. Keener was pleasant and thorough identifying possible complications i.e. infection if I decided to have cyst removed. I fully understand that things happen that infections are also a risk no matter what you do in anything--but I did appreciate that he was straightforward and provided all the information necessary to make an informed decision i.e. to drain the cyst or have it removed. I am moving forward with having it removed.

Dr. Keener is a skilled surgeon who did tendon release surgery on my thumb and index finger. Two weeks later, I am now pain free and have regained almost all movement; I am very happy!

He was proactive by informing my GP, Dr. Superdock about the possibility of osteoporosis and suggested a test to determine. He seemed hurried . I thought he would have looked at my wrist and not just the Xray. Not very personable.

He would have been given 5 stars if he even mentioned my elevated BP, which was 155/95. Of course, I was disappointed that LOG takes BP with a wrist sphygmomanometer . I rechecked my BP when I got home and it was 130/80.

Dr Keener seemed very unsure of himself and offered no direction for the treatment of a severe issue that has been an issue for over 3 months. He listed a couple options, but followed each statement with a counter statement saying it might not be the right direction. When I tried to clarify what he was saying using active listening skills, he became defensive. In contrast, my apt with the PA two weeks before offered a diagnosis and multiple treatment options. I was under the impression that Dr Keener would make the final treatment plan and I would leave with some direction. I received zero answers, valid suggestions or direction and then was told that I didn’t need to follow up unless I needed to. It was a waste of time and money. I will never return to this practice.

Hard to connect with people when we're wearing masks, so I felt no connection. He ilstened to me and explained his tx decision. I would have liked more information about healing time, prognosis etc. It felt a little rushed.

Was disinterested in my concerns from the moment he entered my room. Very dismissive. Informed me that my hand injury would benefit from exercises and massage but didn’t order physical therapy. Lastly, gave me nonspecific work restrictions and put my return to work date as the same date I saw him in the office and refused to change to the following day. This was a terrible experience compared to my encounter with his PA-C Lehman just days prior who did an excellent job caring and listening.

So the visit was good. When it cam to fixing wrist issue. I felt that when I turned down coming in for scheduled therapy I had to ask for some exercises and then was told to look online. I would have expected some paperwork with it.

So far everything has been good. Would just suggest any doctor ask the patient if they have any questions. Sometimes it feels like they time themselves in with the patients.

Put to much of the decision on me to make about what should be done. Was not much help.

Listened to my concerns

I noticed previous thumb joint injections (from Dr. Kuntz) were injected deep into the joint in the base of my thumbs. His injections did not go in as deep and I never get the pain relief but I do get a little relief.

He was a Cookie cutter type doctor. He had his spiel that he wanted to get out but it wasn’t individualize to me. I tried to ask a question but he just wanted to say his rehearsed response. It was like he was just trying to get through to the next visit. He was an hour late for my appointment.

He did a nice job explaining my issue and the procedure that needed to be done. I was upset with him for being 75 minutes passed my scheduled appointment. Though he was apologetic when he entered the room.

Dr Keener has a great personality. Also, he took the time to answer all my questions, even though he had other patients waiting. I was happy with the results of my carpal tunnel and trigger finger surgery. I will definitely choose him again should I need surgery in the future.

I think that he could have been a bit more personable. he seemed impatient with me at times when I talked about pain level. Overall he did a good job explaining my symptoms and gave me good treatment options.

Very calm and knowledgeable!

Dr. Keener was running late, which he did acknowledge but I feel 40 minutes to be a bit excessive. I work as well and needed to add time to my end of day to compensate. Also he reviewed my chart and tests after he had talked to me which I assume to be SOP, but with it being my first visit would have hoped for more.

I'm not sure he made the correct decision about my wrist. Since the splint has been removed my hand is hurting.

He seemed to me unconcerned about finding out about possible fracture & self-assured about his "guess." Did not suggest his ordering--or my ordering--Xrays taken at an ER just a day before. Once back home, I called Patient Records and had them sent to LOG/ Mt. Joy. Very self-assured. Humane?

It was a waste of my time and money. Anything he offered he pretty much discounted in the next breath stating, "it may not work. or is not proven to help." Told me it would resolve over time but it has been getting worse over the last year and a half

While he was very nice and explained everything well, He gave me a shot for carpal tunnel. It has not worked: symptoms are worsening. It caused a deep bruise in my wrist and a small one in the palm of my hand, which seemed strange.

two visits with testing in between. Told me one thing then went totally against his own words the second time. Didn’t remember a word I said the first time when I explained my situation. Lacks genuine concern. Yet I do believe he’s knowledgeable.

No bedside manner at all. Took daughter’s stitches out way too early. Opened up almost immediately. He should have seen that. Anyone could have.

Gave little to no help, seemed to try and quickly get through the appointment. Left the room without explaining what my potential diagnosis was until I asked for him to come back to the room. I’ve been to many specialist and this was the worst.

I like Dr. Keener. I have seen him before for related hand issues. I was very satisfied with the information he provided me with and the surgery results were also very favorable. That is why I came back to seek his assistance again.

He did NOT address my issues properly. Also when I said I am getting numbness he said that because I felt him touch my leg it was not numb!! Never again will I go to log...

I've seen Doctor Keener several times. He is friendly, professional, and practical. I am comfortable with his diagnoses and believe that he looks steps ahead -- great qualities if you ask me.

Dr Keener is very easy to talk to and explains things in simple terms. I was very pleased with the treatment I received due to multiple fractures in wrist and subsequent carpal tunnel surgery. I would highly recommend Dr. Keener and his team!
