A native of Traer, Iowa, Dr. Overton received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and his Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He then completed residency training at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.
When he's not seeing patients, Dr. Overton enjoys spending time with his wife and children and following the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.

Love Dr. Overton! He’s caring, professional, but personal at the same time.
He did total knee replacements on both my knees and was wonderful - answered all my questions and listened to my concerns with lots of patience
Very pleasant, listens and answers questions. Great to work with. Wish he could take care of all my ortho needs. He did set me up with another Physician in his clinic for another surgery needed.

Treatment is always good. Wait time in the room was a little long but that will happen at times.
Explained everything well
I highly recommend Dr. Overton. He listens, provides options for treatment, gives you time to ask questions and responds to concerns you may have. He replaced both of my knees using robotic surgery. Both surgeries went well and my knees are doing great! Dr. Overton is an excellent surgeon!
