A native of Traer, Iowa, Dr. Overton received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and his Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He then completed residency training at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.
When he's not seeing patients, Dr. Overton enjoys spending time with his wife and children and following the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.

Very nice person but forgot to call in my prescription for anti inflammatory meds. and now I have to go all weekend without them.
In the last 2 months he has replaced both of my knees. He is so kind and respectful. His nurses are just as kind and on top of my needs. I have had just the best help at steindler. Will go nowhere else.
Always thorough and friendly. Made sure I had all information on my surgery

Very easy to talk to. I felt in very competent hands. I appreciated he came in with paper and pen- no laptop! In this day and age it was refreshing. He has a great sense of humor too.
