Dr. Brent Overton is a board-certified doctor with special interests in treating the hip, knee, and shoulder as well as spine microsurgery and joint replacement surgery.
A native of Traer, Iowa, Dr. Overton received his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering and his Doctor of Medicine degree from The University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. He then completed residency training at Akron General Medical Center in Akron, Ohio.
When he's not seeing patients, Dr. Overton enjoys spending time with his wife and children and following the University of Iowa Hawkeyes.

Dr. Overton has done a fantastic job with my 2 knee replacement surgeries. One was 9 years ago and this one went even better. He’s through and considerate. One pain med didn’t work after a short time he switched it with another to help me get relief. Dr Overton is a class act.
Great at answering questions and making sure I’m informed and comfortable.
Always is pleasant and takes time to answer questions.

Was clear on prognosis and what to expect
Doctor Overton was clear with the current status of the knee and the options for treatment. Also enjoyable to work with, and we felt confident in his assessment.
He was 45 minutes late but I was told this when I arrived. Luckily I had a book.
