His training included extensive collaboration with fellowship-trained podiatric, orthopedic, plastic, and vascular surgeons, equipping him with a comprehensive, modern approach to complex foot and ankle pathology. Prior to joining the practice, he most recently practiced as an associate at Blanken Foot and Ankle from 2023 to 2025. He is actively involved in professional leadership as a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Secretary of the Maryland Podiatric Medical Association, and a participant in the APMA Emerging Leaders Program.
A Montgomery County, Maryland native, Dr. Blanken earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland, where he played ice hockey all four years, before completing podiatric medical school at Temple University. Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing golf and ice hockey and spending time with his wife, Bethany, and their dog, Chester.
