Bethany is quite personable awa a straight shooter. She explained everything thoroughly easing my skepticism without giving me unrealistic expectations. I give her a 5: she has a great beat and made we want to dance!

She clearly explained follow-up instructions for my eye care. She put me at ease during the exam (“this will be a VERY bright light”, etc. she was kind but professional during what has been an almost overwhelming experience at my age (80).

Dr. Bethany Whitesell, OD, is Missouri Eye Institute’s optometrist providing primary eye care and post-operative care in Joplin and Springfield. Dr. Whitesell was previously employed with the VA Center in Springfield (formerly Mount Vernon). Dr. Whitesell graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Additionally, Dr. Whitesell has served as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.
Dr. Whitesell’s time away from the office includes spending time with her husband and two children, being outdoors, and helping on the family farm.
