A Virginia native, Dr. Bethany Bruno McClanahan, M.D., graduated from the University of Virginia and earned her medical degree from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, receiving a special research qualification for her thesis on virtual prenatal care. She completed a dual master’s degree in Bioethics and Medical Humanities at Case Western Reserve University and trained in OBGYN at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she served as Chief Resident and received the Best All Around Resident award.

Interested in the art as well as science of medicine, she completed a dual masters degree in Bioethics and Medical Humanities at Case Western Reserve University. She trained in OBGYN at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where she was Chief Resident and received the Best All Around resident award for excellence in obstetrics and gynecology.
With an approach to patient care rooted in empowerment, Dr. Bruno is committed to providing the information and education patients need to make the best choices for themselves. Continuity of care holds a special place in her heart; she cherishes the opportunity to guide and grow with patients through a lasting connection over time. Dedicated to evidence-based care, she is an active member of both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American Society for Bioethics & Humanities (ASBH). She previously served on ASBH Board of Directors and MUSC Hospital Ethics Committee and has published in multiple bioethics journals.
Dr. Bruno resides in New Haven with her husband, who is also affiliated with Yale New Haven Hospital as a psychiatrist. Outside of medicine, they enjoy hiking, skiing, and traveling together. A proud plant mom and frequent visitor of the local farmers market, Dr. Bruno is an avid baker who likes to run to offset her sweet tooth.
